One of the most successful fully independent teams was run by Canadian millionaire Walter Wolf, who ran Walter Wolf Racing – between 1977 and 1979.

In 1975, Slovenian-born Canadian businessman Walter Wolf began frequenting Formula 1 races. A year later, he bought 60% of Frank Williams Racing Cars, retaining Frank as team manager, while also acquiring the assets of the recently folded Hesketh Racing and equipment from Embassy Hill, which had shut down following the tragic plane crash that killed Graham Hill and Tony Brise.

Operating from Williams’ Reading base and using former Hesketh machinery, the team rebranded the Hesketh 308C as the Wolf–Williams FW05, with Harvey Postlethwaite joining as chief engineer and Jacky Ickx and Michel Leclère as drivers. Results were poor; Leclère and Ickx both left mid-season, replaced by a string of pay drivers.

By the end of 1976, Wolf restructured, removing Williams and appointing Peter Warr from Lotus. Disillusioned, Frank left to form Williams Grand Prix Engineering with Patrick Head. Postlethwaite’s new WR1 car, powered by a Cosworth engine and driven by Jody Scheckter, debuted brilliantly in 1977 winning in Argentina and later in Monaco and Canada. Scheckter finished second in the Drivers’ Championship, and Wolf secured fourth in the Constructors’ standings.

Lead Times to Fulfill Your Order

90% of all products on our website are designed and manufactured by our production / fulfilment company and are created by DTG (Direct to Garment Printing). This means we do not carry stock and make each order individually for our customers. If your order is for a special occasion, please do check stock availability and lead times with us first. This lead time may be longer at busy periods such as Christmas and Father's Day. On average it takes us 3-5 days to prepare a clothing order.

Untracked Shipping

If you select ‘Standard Mail - Not Tracked’, as your chosen shipping method, we will be unable to track your order when it is in transit and provide you with only ‘Proof of Postage’. We highly recommend that if you are outside the UK and order a number of items, that you select ‘ Standard Mail - Tracked’ as a minimum. We want your order to get to you without delay, but we have found in the past that ’Standard Mail - Not Tracked (especially to USA, Brazil and Mexico) that there is a 20% likelihood that your order will not arrive.

Returns Policy

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).

If you need to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the 'Complete Orders' link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item.

Shipping

We can ship to virtually any address in the world. Note that there are restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations.

When you place an order, we will estimate shipping and delivery dates for you based on the availability of your items and the shipping options you choose. Depending on the shipping provider you choose, shipping date estimates may appear on the shipping quotes page.

Please also note that the shipping rates for many items we sell are weight-based. The weight of any such item can be found on its detail page. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the next full pound.
